My father German W. Perez Lopez de Queralta was born in Santiago de Cuba on September 28, 1936. His parents were Jose Perez and his mom Berta Lopez de Queralta. He was predeceased by his older brother Pepin and sister Ena. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha Gonzalez Perez, son Herman Cantwell and daughter-in-law Elva Cantwell, son Daniel J Perez and daughter-in-law Gillian Weaver, and daughter Ana Tapia and son-in-law Elias Tapia-Hernandez. He is survived by his grandchildren: Elizabeth Tapia, Elias Tapia, Priscilla Tapia, Dylan Weaver, and Hailey Cantwell. German W.Perez, received his Bachelor's degree in Cuba and became an accountant. After the birth of his oldest son in 1969 , he traveled with his family to Spain to flee Communism where he had his second son Daniel in 1974. Seeking a better future for his family, he traveled to the US where his daughter, Ana was born in 1975. After a short while in NY, he moved his family to NJ where he lived in WNY until he retired in 1997. The following year, he and his wife went to Florida where he lived in Tampa then finally West Palm Beach until 2014. In 2014, he and his wife returned to live in NJ. My Dad enjoyed listening to music, watching Nature and documentaries. He enjoyed museums and watching airplanes. He enjoyed a good coffee, clean shave, wearing his caps, and singing. He passed away at home peacefully where he spent his last days surrounded by family, loving care, and sun light. Papi, I am going to miss you. I know that you are in place full of peace and suffering no more. I know that your Mom and Dad came to accompany you when God called you...You were loved...
