Obituary of Gunvant S Maharaja

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Gunvant “Gunner” Maharaja, at the age of 77 on November 6, 2020. Gunner died peacefully at home after a long battle with PSP surrounded by loving family. Born in India, Gunner immigrated to the US to attend college in Michigan before settling in Jersey City. He owned several apartments and businesses in Jersey City among which was Gunner’s Confectionery on Sterling Avenue. Gunner was our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held at the Jorge Rivera Funeral Home on Sunday November 8, 2020, from 10-12pm. Gunner will remain in our hearts forever.
