Mi papá, mi héroe Mi viejo no era un hombre de muchas palabras, pero si un hombre de acción. Un hombre de propósito. Descubrimos que su propósito era increíblemente simple para entender. Simplemente, él vivió para su familia. Él trabajó, el dio, el sacrifico para que sus hijos pudieran lograr una vida mejor. La hermosa historia de tantos inmigrantes en este país. De las acciones de mi papá, aprendí que tu esposa debe ser amada, apreciada y honrada todos los días. No solo en ocasiones especiales. Los vívidos recuerdos de la infancia de mi viejo bajándose del bus después de trabajar de diez a doce horas diarias en Manhattan y yo corriendo a sus brazos permanecerán conmigo para siempre. Incluso después de un largo y duro día de trabajo, trabajo físico, nos ahorró suficiente energía. Mi viejo me enseño que el trabajo duro será recompensado. En el mundo actual, donde muchos niños crecen con derecho, las palabras mas verdaderas no han sonado mas fuerte. En mi casa hemos enfatizado Corintios 3:23. En todo lo que hagas, trabaja como si trabajaras para el Señor y o para el hombre. Te quiero mucho, mi viejo. Siempre un campeón. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My father, my hero. My father was a man of not so many words but a man of action. A man of purpose. We discovered his purpose was incredibly simple to understand even if you did not know him for very long. He simply lived for his family. He worked, he gave, he sacrificed so that his children could have a better life. The beautiful story of so many immigrants in this country. From my father’s actions I learned that your spouse is to be cherished, honored, and loved every single day. Not just on the special occasions. The vivid childhood memories of my father getting off the bus after working his ten to twelve hour day in Manhattan and me running into his arms will stay with me always. Even after a long hard day’s work, physical work, he saved enough energy for us. My father taught me that hard work will be rewarded. In today’s world where kids are growing up entitled, truer words have not rung louder. In my household we have emphasized Corinthians 3:23. In all you do, work as if working for the Lord and not for man. I love you dad, you’ll always be my hero.

Our deepest condolences to the Mercado family. We've been lifting you all up in prayer during this difficult time. We love you all. I've left a memory below. Kuhn family I (Omar) remember being in Humberto's home many times and when he'd come home from work I'd see how well received he was by Isabel and his children. He was honored and loved by his family daily, and I was privileged to see glimpses of it. He always welcomed me to the dinner table, and had a gentle witty way about him. I loved it when he called me "Macho" or "Campeon", because he always made me feel like family.
