Obituary of Hector L Vega

Hector L. Vega, 80, of West New York, NJ passed away on August 5, 2021. Hector was born on July 1,1941 to Italo and Herminia Vega in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Loving father to Anthony, Wesley, Jessica and Matthew. Grandfather to Gabriela, Anthony and Jacob. Beloved brother to Bob, Fernando, John and Mirna. An honored Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War, he continued his public service by actively being engaged in local politics most of his adult life. Local legend baseball player, respected Little League coach and avid Mets fan. He will be remembered for his generous heart, witty sense of humor, lavish storytelling, and his legendary home runs; one of which is still going, going, going. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home Monday, August 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Roman Catholic Blessing will be offered Monday, August 9, 2021 at 12:00 PM Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, New Jersey.
