Obituary of Cynthia DeJesus
Cynthia DeJesus, a devoted daughter and beloved sister, aunt, Godmother, cousin and friend to many, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 12, 2024 at the age of 63. She was surrounded by loving family and friends in her final days at her home in North Bergen, NJ. Cynthia is survived by her sister, Sandra (Louie) Lopez and her nieces and nephews, Natalie DeJesus, Akita (Jayson) Scales, Sharon (Keoni) DeJesus-Chang, Brian Yodice, Chrystie (Eric) Yodice, Christopher (Cindy) DeJesus, Ashley DeJesus and Amanda (Paris) Lopez-Branda. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Andres and Ines DeJesus, her lifelong companion, Craig Bell, her brothers Andres Jr. and Edwin, and her sister, Emily. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Cynthia attended Norman Thomas High School and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College.
Cynthia cherished her memories of adventures with Craig, especially their travels to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and New Mexico. Known for her vibrant spirit and unforgettable smile, she had a passion for good food, spirits, music and fun. She could make any day brighter and uplift your mood with her mere presence. She had such a unique ability to authentically connect with everyone she met on a personal level creating safe spaces for genuine connections and was just a joy to be around. She was a dedicated caregiver to her mother, Ines, in her final days, showcasing her selfless nature. Cynthia valued her family relationships deeply, a testament to her loyalty and love. Professionally, Cynthia took great pride in her role as the Office Manager for a commercial real estate company in lower Manhattan, where her commitment and work ethic were unmatched.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Cynthia’s honor may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center https://giving.mskcc.org/give. A memorial service will be held later this spring to celebrate Cynthia’s life and the wonderful memories she has left behind.
