Obituary of Mercedes Altagracia Ribot
Mercedes “Dulce”, as everyone knew her, passed on Sunday 7/14 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 14 th 1949 in Dominican Republic, as one of 6 siblings she immigrated to the United states when she was 14. She graduated from high school in New York.
She lived in many different places like New York, Union City and finally Weehawken where she made her permanent home. Mercedes was always involved with the community and loved everyone. She was a loving soul that would always help those that needed it. She was a strong, independent person that strived for many things being on her own, but not only did for herself but for others as well. Mercedes leaves behind a great hole in the hearts of the many who knew and loved her. She enjoyed meeting new people, all types of music and dancing whenever possible.
The family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by 3 children, Julio Jr., His Son Christopher his wife Melany and Daughter Emma. Alexandra and the father of her children Cristian, their children Nyasia, Lia and Aiden. Julio and his Wife Tara Lynne.
Her family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at the funeral home Saturday July 20 th at 10am-12pm at the Jorge Rivera Funeral Home 4543 Kennedy Blvd. North Bergen, NJ 07047
