Obituary of Juan Rivera

Juan Rivera, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at his home in Kearny, NJ.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Annais; his cherished daughter, Aniah; his mother, Cecilia; his sisters, Johaira and Elizabeth; his grandparents, Alejandrina and Rafael; and his dear niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan; his stepfather, Jose; and his grandparents, Marina and Cecilio.

Born in the Dominican Republic on September 11, Juan was the son of Cecilia Diaz Martinez and Juan Rivera Crisostomo. He attended New Jersey City University (NJCU) from 2002 to 2006. In January 2009, he welcomed his daughter Aniah into the world, and on February 2, 2020, he married the love of his life, Annais, in a heartfelt private ceremony.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Juan will always remember his radiant smile and the uplifting spirit he brought to every gathering. Known for his kindness, humility, and playful sense of humor, Juan had an extraordinary ability to bring joy to those around him, often lightening the mood with a well-timed joke. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend, and his generous heart touched many lives.

Juan's sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the cherished memories we hold. Until we meet again, manito!

His family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at the funeral home Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Roman Catholic Blessing Service will be offered at the funeral home Monday, September 23, 2024 at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny, New Jersey.
